Fathers Day 2024

 Hi there!

I know this post is a little late, as it’s now way past Father’s Day, but I thought I would share with you what we did for Father’s Day this year.

Both Leonard and I are very similar when it comes to any day that is about us, like birthdays, Christmas, etc. We never know what we want or what we want to do. We ask the other serval million times, or at least what feels like it, but we always struggle to think of things.

For Father’s Day this year, I got him a little gift from Sophie, from Etsy. Which is a site that I have used a few times in the past, but it’s never the first place I look for gifts. I really should as they have some great things on there which are ideal for gifts.

This could only be personalised to change the ‘Daddy’ and ‘Love Sophie’ part of the text.

I got up in the morning, made both of us a cuppa while Sophie was still sleeping and we sat and enjoyed a HOT drink, whilst sat in bed. A rare chance for a hot drink, I know. Then it was time to get Sophie up and give her the present bag, with the little teddy and card in. Sophie looked so grown up carrying the bag into Daddy. After pretty much throwing the bag at him, she then pointed to the TV and shouted BLUE! (shes a massive Blues Clues & You fan). Leonard opened his gift and tried (and failed) to get a hug from Sophie.

Later in the morning, we made our way to Millington Woods. We didn’t even make it five minutes into the walk before Sophie refused to walk any further. She used to be so good at walking and refused to be in the pram, but that has since changed. Leonard went back to the car for the stroller, luckily still not being far from the car. We got Sophie into the stroller and carried on with the walk. It was a lovely walk and we continued until we got to the steps, where we sat on the bench and Sophie had a snack. We then made our way back towards the car to head home, but not without stopping at a lovely little tea room first for some much needed cake and coffee. Sophie had a toasted teacake, but was far more interested in trying to get some of my coffee cake.

When we got home, we spent the rest of the day relaxing, well, as much as you can with a 1 year old. We all had a lovely day together and was made even better by the sun staying out for us.

What did you get up to on Fathers Day?
