I’m Kerry, engaged to Leonard and mummy to 19 month old Sophie. I currently work part time and have been with the company for nearly 6 years.


I’ve always wanted to write my own blog, I’ve even tried in the past, but I’ve never really known what to write about. Which is a bit important when you want to do a blog. Recently, it’s hit me, I feel that I can write about surviving motherhood and family life, hence the name of this blog, Mum Life With One. With the help of Leonard of course! 


I want this to be a little hobby for me, a time that I can sit by myself, write a post and publish it. Even if no one reads it. 


As we had Sophie, the world entered a cost of living crisis, my take home pay was a lot less than what it used to be, from statutory maternity pay to dropping my hours. 


I’m in no way a professional of any kind, I offer no advice. I’m just trying to put my thoughts, feels and everything else out there. If it helps you, great! It’s just a part of my life that I’m willing to share with you all. The highs, lows and everything in between. Most of the things I’ve seen online are just the good times of parenting. Also a lot of shaming goes on, I want this to be a place where no one is made to feel ashamed or like a bad parent.

Hi there! I do love a good homemade crustless quiche. It’s so quick and easy to make and it’s easier to make than it sounds.  I make a crustless quiche at least three to four times a month. What I Packed in my Hospital Bag

  Hi there!   I thought I would do a bit of a list on what I packed for myself and for Sophie for our hospital bags.    There are many, many lists of what people pack already out there. I’m also going to add some things I wish I had taken and some bits that I just didn’t bother with.    I think I packed and re-packed the bags so many times and I changed which bags I was taking about 3 times. In the end I just ended up taking my suitcase and a bag for Sophie.     For reference, I went in to be induced so I wasn’t sure how long I would be in hospital for.
